SUPER Engineer bracelet on Eco-Zilla mini-review
Let me start off by saying that I think I hate tapering bracelets. I've sold off at least 6 bracelets because they were tapered. Only, I didn't really realize as that being the reason until recently. So, as of late, I started to not wear my s/s Zilla. I had it on a 24mm Watchadoo that as you know tapers down to 20mm at the clasp. IMO the Zilla's watch head looked WAY too large, and top heavy for the bracelet.
So while browsing online for a heavy duty 24/24mm bracelet to replace the Watchadoo with, I came across this monster bracelet from strapcode/tungchoy.
They call it the SUPER Engineer bracelet. I loved the pics of it, I was intrigued by the toolish/tough, bracelet's screw-bar links. But, wasn't to keen on paying $139.40 for it. What the hell...I did anyway. I believe in the fact that nice things cost more money.
The bracelet comes in choices of brushed w/ polished ends, all polished, polished w/ curved end-links (for PAM type watches etc.) and PVD coated black. I went with the brushed finish, polished ends version to match my Zilla perfectly.
When I opened the package upon arrival. I was instantly wowed!
It was very heavy (around 120 grams), and looked like a 24mm non-tapering Watchadoo on steroids (about 5mm thick!). I immediately took the Watchadoo off my Zilla with excitement and installed the SUPER Engineer. My jaw hit the floor! on how smoking hot my Zilla looked. No more imbalanced appearance
The screw-bar link pins are screwed in only on one side, not a screw head on both ends like most screw-bar link bracelets. Making for an easy, fast, adjustment. Overall, I give the SUPER Engineer an A+
I'm definitely getting another one for one of my other divers.
Yeah, it cost more (almost triple)...but...it kills the Watchadoo by a country mile.
Killed mine...time to flip the little guy now .
